Advanced Aerobatics

Updated for the new Part 61 regulations introduced in September 2014 – low level aerobatic endorsements replace the old low level aerobatic approvals.

Training is provided in the following flight activity endorsements:

  • Aerobatics (1500) – above 1,500 ft AGL
  • Aerobatics (1000) – above 1,000 ft AGL
  • Aerobatics (500) – above 500 ft AGL

CAAP 155_1, Aerobatics, used to be a good place to start reading however it now has significantly less than the minimum that you must know as well as some misleading and out of date information. Additional elements have been added to the underpinning knowledge requirements with Part 61. It has potentially dangerous, inadequate information about Manoeuvring Speed. Expect this CAAP to be replaced by an Advisory Circular sometime.

My syllabus for low level aerobatic training and the endorsement is OzaerosAerobatics1500Syllabus220220

Everything you need to know for the 1500 ft aerobatic endorsement is in my e-book at Amazon and the paperback version is available at Amazon or Skylines at Moorabbin Airport.
